Today’s the day: particpants in the 10-day Business Book Proposal Challenge have until midnight tonight to upload their proposal into our Facebook group to be in with a chance of winning a publishing deal. There are seven so far, with another six or seven promised by the deadline. I can’t WAIT to read them – I’ve seen them taking shape and I know it’s going to be an incredibly tough contest.
But as someone sald in the last challenge, even those who don’t win the publishing deal are winners, because they’ve got more clarity and inspiration for their book than they ever believed possible and, just as importantly, they’ve had a great time.
I can’t put it better than Nova, who sent me this endorsement:
‘Taking the 10 day book challenge has been an experience that I am deeply grateful for. Alison’s feedback is invaluable and the tasks keep you on track to go from an idea to an actual book outline. It pushes you and inspires you at the same time. I now have a book I am excited to write and know exactly what it will contain. I cannot praise or thank Alison enough for this experience. The support in the group is outstanding and having others there to cheer you on and help you out is really quite emotional and moving!’
It IS emotional, that’s one of the reasons it’s so effective: even at our most rational and strategic we are made of emotion and we function at our best when we’re supported and when we’re laughing at the same time as doing the work.
And now the real work begins – let’s get those books written and out there changing the world!
