Two new brilliant books in the world

Today is Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year, allegedly. Not on this site.

Today we’re celebrating two brilliant new books officially published by Practical Inspiration Publishing.

The first is by Maria Hocking, a transformational coach with an incredible personal story. Here’s what readers are saying about Strip Naked and Re-Dress with Happiness: How to survive and thrive through personal challenge:

‘I can honestly say this is the best self help book I have read and I have read quite a few. I usually give up half way through these type of books as some of the activities can make me anxious. This book has been written with compassion and total honesty and makes you feel like you are being guided and nurtured right through the activities, which are easy to follow and such lovely exercises to do. There is a particular activity that relates to a magic box, in my mind the whole book is magic. Maria confirms the tough times she has experienced and how she has overcome them, I found myself relating these to my own experiences and have learned how you can turn difficult situations into positives. I love this book and will treasure it.’

The second is Glenda Shawley’s Founded After 40: How to start a business when you haven’t got time to waste, a warm, practical guide to every aspect of setting up a business and getting it right first time. There’s also a free workbook available from Glenda’s website which includes invaluable checklists and templates. Here’s my favourite review so far:

‘I wish I had had this book when I started my first business! It takes you from the first moment when you start contemplating setting up your own business, through to managing it successfully when it’s up and running. It starts brilliantly by making you consider why you are setting up a business in the first place, covers all that you need to consider when choosing your business model (that’s the bit I most needed), then takes you step by step through developing your plan, understanding your target market, developing your brand and on to managing and launching your business, with every aspect of your journey covered in depth on the way. There is an online workbook to download, which links to key points in the book.’

Blue Monday? Blimmin’ brilliant Monday.
